The T-34-85 Model

The T-34-85 was a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the T-34-76. Introduced in 1944, this model was equipped with a more powerful 85mm gun and a three-man turret, allowing the tank commander to focus on leading the tank rather than operating the gun. This change significantly improved the combat effectiveness of the T-34.

With its robust armor, increased firepower, and improved mobility, the T-34-85 played a pivotal role on the Eastern Front of World War II. It was not only a match for the German Panzers but in many respects, surpassed them. The T-34-85 remained in service long after the war, serving in various conflicts around the world and leaving a lasting legacy as one of the most effective tanks of the 20th century.
